Due to its minute-by-minute precipitation predictions and hyper-local weather forecasts, Dark Sky is a well-known weather app. It was renowned for both its ease of use and accuracy. However, since Apple acquired Dark Sky, there have been a lot of modifications.

The availability and functionality of the Dark Sky app and its API have changed since Apple acquired Dark Sky in March 2020. Existing users of the Dark Sky API were permitted to continue using it until the end of 2021, after which new sign-ups were closed.
